Zach Corrigan Food & Water Watch
Zach Corrigan has been an advocate for sustainability and environmental conservation for more than a decade. He began working on seafood safety issues in 2002 when he served as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Public Interest Research Group. There, he was a lead advocate for more stringent EPA rules to curb mercury emissions from electric utilities. He wrote two reports, both named "Fishing for Trouble," detailing the extent of state-issued public health warnings for mercury in fish. In 2004, Mr. Corrigan became a Legislative Representative for Public Citizen and, shortly thereafter, its spin-off organization, Food & Water Watch. Mr. Corrigan's main responsibilities at Food & Water Watch, a non-profit consumer organization that works to ensure clean water and safe food, were analyzing and tracking offshore aquaculture and ocean desalination legislation. In May 2006, Mr. Corrigan became the Staff Attorney for the organization, working with all of its teams on legal, regulatory, and legislative matters. Mr. Corrigan graduated from the University of Wisconsin and earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. He is a licensed attorney in the District of Columbia and Massachusetts.
