Jean Marsh

Senior Designer, Horticulturist

Jean Marsh understands the wisdom and necessity of embracing our surrounding environment and creating landscapes that truly celebrate a sense of place in the local community.  Through her practice as a garden designer, lecturer and author, Jean continually encourages people to re-think our traditional response to the landscape and seeks to move the public’s perception of drought tolerant landscapes as sparse and boring to one of a new appreciation for this fresh and dynamic approach.  As a horticulturalist Jean has worked with growers of native and Mediterranean plant materials to develop a palette that is not only sustainable, but one that is diverse and exciting.

Jean has written numerous articles for the Press Enterprise as well as co-authoring publications for the demonstration garden in Riverside ‘Landscapes Southern California Style’.  She is a Contributing author of:  Southern California Style Garden Guide: Published by: Western Municipal Water District of Riverside County.  Jean is also the author of the Western Municipal Water Districts “Landscaping” workbook.

Jean's professional experience includes sales and consultation for Plant Club, Corona and Paradise Garden Center, Corona.  From 1996 to 1998 Jean was responsible for all residential irrigation design and inside sales for Hendrickson Brothers Irrigation Corporation in Corona.  She has conducted workshops for the Western Municipal Water District of Riverside County, Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens, the City of Corona as well as community workshops for the City of Norco. Jean continues her passion for educating homeowners providing workshops through the City of Corona’s Department of Water & Power on the subject of Sustainable and Water Wise Landscape Design.
