Clay Mitchell MGPlanning Clay Mitchell is a VLS grad (’96 Joint Degree) and has worked in municipal law and planning for over 10 years in more than 20 communities in NH and Mass. Mr. Mitchell works to empower municipalities and their citizens in an effort to promote innovative government action at the local level. He cares deeply about the historical, cultural, and natural beauty of New England. Mr. Mitchell lectures throughout the New England region on energy, policy, and law and has taught courses at UNH and Plymouth State University on these subjects. He is just completing his doctorate in Natural Resources and Earth Systems Science at UNH on the local policy process. At the Town of Epping, he has helped pioneer one the first, voter-adopted, Zoning Ordinances that require energy efficiency and sustainable design elements in the country. He is also working with the Planning Board to upgrade municipal buildings toward achieving a 50% reduction in GHG emissions and 35% annual energy cost savings through the installation of energy efficiency measures, solar PV arrays, and cogeneration units.
